Highlights of 2022!

We are absolutely delighted with the work we’ve been able to achieve this year. Thank you so much for your support, we couldn’t do it without you. Here are our highlights for 2022.

Staff projects – The Piggery, Poultry, Brick-making, and Tree-Nursery bed continue to thrive. Tom, Jane and Lizzie (the Unity is Strength trustees) are working closely with Dominic to establish some impact measures for each of the projects so we can support their development in a sustainable way. More to follow on this in the New Year!

Bunk Bed fundraiser – complete! – The bunk bed fundraiser started last Christmas is now complete 🎉 Thanks to your generous donations, the amazing work of Emma Outteridge, and the brilliant efforts of Luke and Carly who volunteered at KAASO this year, there are now 240 double-decker metallic bunk beds installed!

The children and staff are so thankful for all of the support and donations made and will now have a good night’s sleep in their new metal bed frames.

Music Festival Appeal – KAASO came 4th! – The children of KAASO performed an extraordinary feat by taking 4th place in the National Primary Schools Music, Dance & Drama Festival out of no less than 73 schools competing! An enormous thank you for helping KAASO get there.

The grand opening of KAASO Main Hall – In September, Emma Outteridge, the KAASO Volunteer Coordinator, visited KAASO with two volunteers from the organisation KATKiDS to officially open the KAASO Main Hall, the new hall latrines and the 8-room teacher housing block that they had fundraised for!
