Highlights of 2021!

We are absolutely delighted with all the work we’ve been able to achieve this year. Thank you so much for your support, we couldn’t do it without you. Here are our highlights for 2021…

February – KAASO was able to buy the following items thanks to your generous donations: 2 temperature guns, 2 handwashing facilities, 225 masks for staff and children, 324 exercise books, 5 packets of pens, 27 mosquito nets, 150 bars of soap, and food including beans, maize flour, sugar, rice and salt.

June/July – Β£4,800 sent to KAASO to help set up income-generating projects for the teaching and non-teaching staff at KAASO during Uganda’s second national lockdown. You can read about the impact of these projects here.

November – We launched our new website, visited Northbourne Park School to give an assembly, received a grant of Β£1,000 from The Grail Society, and spoke to around 30 businesses about Unity is Strength at the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce breakfast.

December – Launched the ‘Buy a Bed for Christmas’ fundraiser with Emma Outteridge. There’s still time to donate, you can buy a bed here!

We are hoping to purchase 120 metal double decker bunks (240 beds total) to house the students returning to KAASO in January.

Each double decker bunk bed set is 350,000 UGX which is: Β£75

Or the cost of an individual bed is: Β£40

All funds will go to buying new double decker metal bunk beds for KAASO – and no amount is too small! Even if you can’t buy an entire bed, every pound counts so anything you can give will be put to good use – and greatly appreciated.

So far, an incredible Β£3,454 has been raised by Unity is Strength and Emma Outteridge combined. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated!
